Overview
The Master of Business Administration Dissertation phase is where students may achieve their final 60 credits by completing a dissertation for the MBA (Maters Stage) programme offered by the University of Gloucestershire, and delivered by our strategic partner IDM. This stage of qualification is for those who already hold a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
The MBA (Masters Stage) programme consists of three compulsory units; Dissertation proposal (1500 words), Dissertation (15,000 words), and a reflection paper (1500 words) worth 60 credits. This stage of the programme is designed to make a major contribution towards a students professional development, providing them the opportunity to examine an area of particular interest within an appropriate organisational context.
Successful completion of the Dissertation for the MBA (Masters Stage) of the programme will lead to the awards of a Master in Business Administration (MBA).
Entry requirements
For entry onto the Dissertation for MBA (Masters Stage) of the programme, students must have a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership or equivalent RFQ Level 7 qualification.
Qualification structure
The MBA (Masters Stage) Dissertation stage comprises of three compulsory units; Dissertation proposal (1500 words), Dissertation (15,000 words), and a reflection paper (1500 words) worth 60 credits, 600 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 300 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
Duration and delivery
The qualification is designed to be delivered over six months on average for full-time study, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, or live lectures through zoom interactive video conferencing, tutorials, and seminars.
Assessment, Verification and Award
This qualification is awarded by The University of Gloucestershire. All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the universities delivery partner IDM and externally verified by the University of Gloucestershire. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.
Progressions
Successful completion of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification enables graduates to progress within employment and also join a PhD or DBA programme at many universities in the UK and overseas.
